Covers 100% parts and labor...the coverage you want Protects against unexpected repair bills...after standard warranty expires Increases the resale value...because ESC is transferable Your hedge against rising parts and labor costs...ESC is the answer How long is the coverage?Coverage is available for five years (10 years for EPG standby and EPG load management). Various hour increments are available for most applications and models. What is coverage? Full service coverage covers 100% parts and labor for engine failures due to defects in materials and workmanship on covered components. It also covers a Caterpillar generator or Caterpillar marine gear if applicable. What products qualify for ESC? ESC is available for new commercial engines used in industrial, electric power generation (EPG), petroleum and marine applications for use within the continental boundaries of the United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. ESC is available for most diesel and gas engine models including our 3000, 3100, 3176, 3200, 3400, and 3500 series (N/A for 3500 gas). Consult your Caterpillar dealer for more specific information. ESC is also available for new Caterpillar generators, switchgear, power modules, and marine gears sold in conjunction with a new Caterpillar engine. The engine must be purchased at the same time the engine ESC is purchased. What ESC doesn't cover Normal wearout Normal maintenance items Failures caused by operator abuse Failures resulting from unauthorized repairs or adjustments Performance complaints Reimbursement for any downtime Any and all applicable taxes When can I purchase Caterpillar Extended Service Coverage? The initial owner may purchase ESC up to one year after taking delivery of the engine. However, if purchased over 180 days after taking delivery, a late fee applies. This brochure is intended to give you general information regarding this ESC program. For specific information, consult your nearest Caterpillar dealer. Marine Advantage Program: The Marine Advantage Program demonstrates Caterpillar's confidence in its product and provides a way for boat brokers and dealers to more effectively market used boats with Caterpillar power. End Users also recognize the higher boat value and marketability with Advantage. This program provides Extended Service Coverage for used marine engines in North American pleasure craft applications. Coverage Options - A choice of 12 or 24 month terms are offered. 1) Advantage Program - offers basic coverage for 30+ specified engine components. 2) Advantage Plus Program - provides basic coverage, plus more than 25 additionally covered components. What Engine Models are eligible: 3116, 3126, 3126B, 3208 3176, 3196, C12 3406, 3408, 3412Any of the above models are eligible provided they are less than 8 years old, from date of delivery and have accumulated under 2000 engine hours. Eligibility for Advantage coverage is based on three criteria: Engine Model Engine age at the time of sea trial inspection Engine state of repair at the time of the sea trial inspection |
