CAT® EXTENDED LIFE COOLANT FOR COMMERCIAL ENGINES
Nearly half of all engine failures can be traced to cooling system problems. So keeping your cooling system working efficiently is critical to getting top performance and productivity from your Cat Engines.Caterpillar® Extended Life Coolant (ELC) sets new standards for protection and performance in Cat Engines operating in a wide range of commercial applications. It is designed to provide superior protection for your cooling system and engine without the hassle and expense of commercially available coolants. The real benefits of Cat ELC: Up to three times the life of commercial coolants Less downtime for additive maintenance Longer coolant system component life Less cooling system maintenance One coolant for diesel, gasoline & natural gas engines 60-80% lower cost over the life of the coolant 66% less coolant disposal - and it´s recyclableCompare the savings with Cat ELC Cat ELC saves you money by reducing the amount of coolant and additives you purchase, and by reducing the labor required for regular coolant maintenance. You will also realize savings from longer component life and fewer repairs. Since you will change coolant less often, the cost of disposing of used coolant will be greatly reduced.

When water availability or quality is a concern, Cat ELC Premix is the solution. It contains 50% ELC and 50% deionized water. This precise mixture ensures that water quality does not compromise coolant life and performance, and eliminates guesswork about proper mix ratio. ELC Premix is recommended for initial fill or top-off. Easily replace traditional coolants To replace traditional coolants. simply drain, clean and flush the system with clean water and refill with Cat ELC Premix. You'll start benefiting from the superior protection formula right away without a major investment of time and money. Lasting protection and performanceWhile traditional coolants need to be changed every 2,000-3,000 hours or two years, Cat ELC lasts in excess of 6,000 hours or six years. That's more than twice the effective life of regular coolant without sacrificing coolant performance or protection. Of course, your operating conditions may affect the life of your coolant, so we recommend using SOS fluid analysis to determine when Cat Extender should be added and when the coolant should be replaced. A better formulation means better protection Cat ELC doesn't just protect longer. It protects better with a superior additive formula that guards against liner pitting and corrosion. It provides excellent aluminum component protection, guards against seal-face build-up and gel formation, and extends the life of the water pump seal. Cat ELC's advanced formula contains no phosphates or silicates, so hard water deposits in the cooling system are practically eliminated. SCAs are a thing of the past Conventional coolants require the addition of Supplemental Coolant Additives (SCAs) every 250 hours - a time- and labor-intensive task that is costly over the life of the coolant. With Cat ELC, SCAs are eliminated. Instead, a specially formulated Cat Extender is added at the midpoint of the coolant's estimated life (about 3,000 hours). This formulation replenishes additives and brings Cat ELC back to its maximum performance and protection values. When you drain Cat ELC from your cooling system, a simple flush with clean water is all that is needed. You save the cost and labor of flushing with cleaning agents.
